Forty-three bills were vetoed by the Governor of Maryland following
the 1973 Regular Session of the General Assembly. Twenty-two of these
bills originated in the Senate of Maryland, and 21 of the bills originated
in the House of Delegates.

Following the provisions of Section 17 of Article II of the Constitution
of Maryland, all vetoed bills must be referred to the House in which they
were introduced immediately after that House has organized at the next
regular or special session of the General Assembly, for reconsideration.

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT

June 1, 1973.

Honorable William S. James
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the Maryland Constitution,
I have today vetoed Senate Bill 56.

This bill reduces the minimum age requirement for certain licenses
from 21 to 18.

Section 26 of House Bill 299, which was enacted by the General Assem-
bly and signed by me on May 24, 1973, accomplishes the same purposes
as Senate Bill 56.

Therefore, it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill 56.

Sincerely,

MARVIN MANDEL,
Governor,.

Which was read.

"Real Estate Brokers," and "Landscape Architects," respectively, to lower
the minimum age from 21 to 18 years for certain licenses.
