MARVIN MANDEL, Governor 683
(E) EXCEPTIONS. - THIS SECTION DOES NOT REQUIRE
ANY PERSON LICENSED TO CATCH CRABS TO OBTAIN A LICENSE
TO SELL THE CRABS CAUGHT, OR REQUIRE A LICENSE FOR
RETAIL CRAB SELLERS WHO PURCHASE CRABS FROM A PERSON
LICENSED UNDER THIS SECTION.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Article 66C, section 324 of the Code. The
license Issued is given a specific name to
distinguish from other department licenses.
The only other changes made are in style.
4-808. CLOSED SEASON FOR HARD CRABS; EXCEPTION FOR
WORCESTER COUNTY.
A PERSON MAY NOT CATCH HARD CRABS IN ANY WATERS
OF THE STATE, EXCEPT IN THE WATERS OF WORCESTER
COUNTY, BETWEEN JANUARY 1 AND APRIL 1.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Article 66C, section 320 of the Code. The
suffix "shell" when used to refer to hard
crabs or soft crabs is proposed for
deletion here and throughout this subtitle.
The staff is proposing the exclusive use of
"soft" or "hard" to designate the crabs.
The present statutes are inconsistent in
that they refer to both terms. See, in
contrast with this section, sections 324
and 326.
The phrase "in each and every year" is
proposed for deletion since it is
understood that the prohibition created by
this section continues until amended or
repealed by the legislature.
The only other changes made are in style.
