REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Article 66C, section 16(b) of the Code.
Paragraph (6) is proposed for deletion as
obsolete since the survey does not directly
participate in the examination process of
certificates of competence. This function
is performed by the Director of the Bureau
of Mines and the Mine Examining Board. The
survey does have over-all supervisory
authority which is already stated in
paragraph (4) of this section. The
introductory paragraph to this subsection
is proposed for deletion and transferred to
proposed section 2—203 to emphasize and
differentiate between the functions of the
survey and the director's role. The only
other changes made are in style.

2-203. DUTIES OF DIRECTOR.

THE DIRECTOR OF THE SURVEY SHALL EXERCISE ANY
POWER OR DOTY AND GENERAL SUPERVISION OVER MATTERS
CONFERRED UPON THE SURVEY BY LAW, SUBJECT TO THE
AUTHORITY OF THE SECRETARY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language
derived from the introductory paragraph to
Article 66C, section 16(b) of the Code. It
has been transferred to emphasize and
differentiate the functions of the survey
and the role of the director.
