MARVIN MANDEL, Governor                                 1853

(B) A PERSON WHO VIOLATES THIS SECTION IS GUILTY
OF A MISDEMEANOR AND SUBJECT TO A FINE OF NOT MORE
THAN $10 FOR EACH OFFENSE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section contains the
provisions of Art. 66C, §470, transferred
to Art. 89B for organizational purposes.
The only changes made are in style.

SECTION 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That
nothing in this Act affects the term of office of an
appointed member of any board, commission, committee,
[[or other]] agency or other unit. A person who is a
member of such a unit on the effective date of this
Act shall remain a member for the balance of the term
to which he was appointed, unless he sooner dies,
resigns, or is removed pursuant to the provisions of
law.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Sec. 6 is intended to make it
clear that no board, commission, or
committee affected by the Act is abolished.
Therefore, no terms of members become
vacant; instead, persons in office on the
effective date of the act remain in office
for the balance of the term. This is
constitutionally required, in any event;
see Art. XVI, §2 of the Constitution.

SECTION 7. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
continuity of every [[other]] department, board,
commission [[or agency]] , committee, agency or other
unit affected by this Act, and not abolished by it, is
retained. The personnel, records, files, furniture
and fixtures and other properties and all
appropriations, credits, assets, liabilities, and
obligations of each retained [[agency]] UNIT are
continued as the personnel, records, files, furniture,
fixtures, properties, appropriations, credits, assets,
liabilities, and obligations of the agency under the
laws enacted by §1 of this Act.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This is a general transitional
provision relating to agencies continued in
existence in the new Agriculture Article.
New language is added by amendment to
indicate that this provision relates to
units of the Department.

SECTION 8. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That
except as expressly provided to the contrary in this
