MARVIN MANDEL, Governor 1845
LOCAL INSPECTOR, OR BY THE PERSON IN BALTIMORE CITY
CHARGED WITH THIS DUTY, IF THE SCALES ARE LOCATED
THERE;
(2) HE WEIGHS THE VEHICLE SO AS TO DETERMINE THE
CORRECT NET WEIGHT OF THE FUEL; AND
(3) ALL THE WHEELS OF THE VEHICLE, TRACTOR,
TRAILER, OR SEMITRAILER TRANSPORTING THE SOLID FUEL
ARE ON THE SCALE AT THE SAME TIME; HOWEVER, IF THE
TRACTOR IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE TRAILER OR
SEMITRAILER AT THE TIME OF WEIGHING, THE TRAILER, OR
SEMITRAILER MAY BE WEIGHED WITHOUT THE TRACTOR.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language
derived from Art. 97, §67 of the Code. The
present reference to the Division of Weights
and Measures of the Department of Public
Works in Baltimore City is omitted and new
language is added to allow the title of the
person charged with this duty to change in
the future without necessitating further
amendments to this provision. The present
provision that requires the weightmaster to
weigh the vehicle unloaded before he weighs
it loaded is revised to accomodate the
weighing of vehicles brought into the State
while loaded. The present provision
exempting the weighing of a vehicle
containing solid fuel previously weighed on a
mine scale previously approved by the
Secretary is omitted because it is
unnecessary in light of the revision of
paragraph (2) .
