1664                                            LAWS OF MARYLAND                                [Ch. 6

THE SECRETARY MAY EMPLOY PERSONS ON A PART-TIME
BASIS AND FIX THEIR COMPENSATION AND CONDITIONS OF

EMPLOYMENT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) is new language
derived from Art. 48, §13 of the Code. The
present provision requiring the Inspector to
appoint "the chief clerk" or any other
employee is omitted and the Secretary is
vested with the authority to appoint "any
employee". The references to the chief clerk
are omitted throughout this subtitle because
all duties and powers are vested in the
Secretary; See revisor's note to §7—301. The
Secretary of course, may delegate these
duties and powers to the employees of the
Warehouse. The substitution does not result
in a substantive change because under the
present statute any employee may be
designated.

Subsection (b) is new language derived from
Art. 48, §11(b) of the Code. The reference
to the appointment of full-time employees is
omitted for the reasons explained in the
revisor's note to §7-204.
