WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNOR, THE SECRETARY
SHALL APPOINT ONE INSPECTOR OF TOBACCO, WHO SHALL BE A
TOBACCO GROWER OR QUALIFIED LEAF TOBACCO DEALER AND A
RESIDENT OF ONE OF THE TOBACCO GROWING COUNTIES OF THE
STATE. WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNOR, THE
SECRETARY MAY REMOVE THE INSPECTOR AT HIS PLEASURE.

(E) INSPECTOR TO ADMINISTER SUBTITLE.

THE INSPECTOR SHALL ADMINISTER THE PROVISIONS OF
THIS SUBTITLE SUBJECT TO THE SUPERVISION OF THE
SECRETARY. THE INSPECTOR SHALL RECEIVE THE SALARY
PROVIDED IN THE STATE BUDGET.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 48, §9 of the Code. The present
provision relating to the location of the
warehouse is proposed for deletion because it
appears as new language in §7-302.

In Subsection (b) new language is added to
indicate that the Inspector is the Department
official responsible for the administration
of this subtitle. All other present
references to the Inspector in this subtitle
are proposed for deletion and all powers and
responsibilities are vested in the Secretary
to reflect the present Department
organization.

The only other changes made are in style.
SEC. 7-302. TOBACCO WAREHOUSE - LOCATION AND HOURS.

(A)   LOCATION.

THE WAREHOUSE SHALL BE LOCATED IN ONE OF THE
FOLLOWING COUNTIES:

(1)   ANNE ARUNDEL;

(2)   CALVERT;

(3)   CHARLES;

(4)   PRINCE GEORGE'S; OR

(5)   ST. MARY'S.

(B)   WAREHOUSE HOURS.
