LEAF TOBACCO ON THE SALES FLOOR OF ANY PRIVATE
WAREHOUSE.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
derived from Art. 48, §66 (c) of the Code and
added to define a term used in this title.
Language is added to indicate that this
definition does not apply to the State
Warehouse.
(J) "SPECIAL MARKINGS" MEANS THE INITIALS OR
OTHER TRADEMARKS OF THE OWNER OF A HOGSHEAD.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language

added to define a term used in this title.
(K) "TRANSFER BUYER" MEANS A PERSON ENGAGED IN
THE BUSINESS OF PURCHASING LEAF TOBACCO FROM AN OWNER
OF LEAF TOBACCO.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language
derived in part from Art. 48, §66 (b) and
added to clarify the use of this term in this
Title. The present reference in Art. 48,
§66 (b) to a person who buys from a "producer"
is omitted because this is a confusing and
ambiguous term. It could be used to refer to
the individual who actually practices tobacco
husbandry or it could refer to the person,
firm, or corporation who rents land and
renders services to a grower in return for a
share of the crop. Both the grower or
landowner, however, can own tobacco and sell
it. Consequently, this definition is revised
to refer to the owner of tobacco.
