1504 LAWS OF MARYLAND [Ch. 6
derived from the last sentence of Art. 66C,
§470G of the Code.
Subsection (b) presently appears as Art.
66C, §4701 (a) of the Code. The phrase
describing the establishments regulated by
this section is proposed for deletion and
the term "official" establishment is
substituted in light of the definition of
official establishment set forth in
§4—101(s). The reference to "wild game"
and "wild animals" is proposed for deletion
and a reference to "wild bird" and "wild
animal" is substituted to maintain
consistency with the definitions set forth
in the Natural Resources Article; See
§10-101(h) of the Natural Resources
Article. The reference to game probably is
intended to refer to game birds as defined
in §10-101 (h) because the statute also
refers to "animals". The reference to
animals undoubtedly refers to mammals
because slaughterhouses would not admit
wild fish, reptiles, amphibians, and wild
animals of this nature. A reference to
"meat" is added because meat is inspected
at official establishments. The only other
changes made are in style.
SEC. 4-114. SEPARATE ESTABLISHMENTS FOR EQUINE
CARCASSES.
THE SECRETARY, BY RULE OR REGULATION, MAY REQUIRE
AN EQUINE OR ITS CARCASS TO BE PREPARED IN AN
ESTABLISHMENT SEPARATE FROM AN ESTABLISHMENT WHERE
CATTLE, SHEEP, SWINE, OR GOATS, THEIR CARCASSES, PARTS
OF THEM, MEAT, OR THEIR MEAT FOOD PRODUCTS ARE
PREPARED.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language
derived from Art. 66C, §470L(b) of the
Code. Art. 66C, §470L(b) , therefore, is
proposed for deletion.
SEC. 1-115. USE OF FALSE, MISLEADING, OR UNAPPROVED
NAMES, MARKINGS, LABELS, OR CONTAINERS PROHIBITED.
(A) SALE OR DONATION OF ARTICLE BEARING ILLEGAL
MARKING OR LABELING OR IN ILLEGAL CONTAINER
PROHIBITED.
