10-907. REGULATED SHOOTING GROUNDS.

(A) PERMIT REQUIRED. - ANY PERSON DESIRING TO
ESTABLISH AND OPERATE A REGULATED SHOOTING GROUND
FIRST SHALL OBTAIN A PERMIT FROM THE DEPARTMENT.

(E) ISSUANCE; FEE. - THE DEPARTMENT MAY ISSUE A
REGULATED SHOOTING GROUND PERMIT IF THE DEPARTMENT
DETERMINES THAT THE ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF IT
DOES NOT CONFLICT WITH ANY REASONABLE PRIOR PUBLIC
INTEREST. THE FEE FOR THE PERMIT IS $25 A YEAR.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language
derived from the first two sentences of
Article 66C, section 181(b) of the Code.
Language is added to indicate that any
person may apply for a regulated shooting
ground permit. In addition, the present
provision requiring a fee of "$25 per
season" is omitted since it is the practice
of the department to require only an annual
fee of $25.

10-908. DEPARTMENT SHALL REGULATE HUNTING ON
REGULATED SHOOTING GROUNDS.

THE DEPARTMENT, BY RULE OR REGULATION, SHALL
GOVERN AND PRESCRIBE THE SIZE OF THE AREA, THE METHOD
OF HUNTING, THE OPEN AND CLOSED SEASONS, AND THE
RELEASE, POSSESSION, AND USE OF PROPAGATED GAME BIRDS.
THE DEPARTMENT MAY PERMIT THE HUNTING OF THE FOLLOWING
GAME BIRDS ONLY: WILD TURKEY, PHEASANT, BOBWHITE
QUAIL, CHUKAR[[,]] PARTRIDGE, AND MALLARD DUCKS. THE
DEPARTMENT MAY REQUIRE REPORTS IT DEEMS NECESSARY FOR
THE OPERATION OF REGULATED SHOOTING GROUNDS.

indicate that only the birds named may be
hunted on regulated shooting grounds.

10-909. HUNTING ON REGULATED SHOOTING GROUNDS.

(A) LICENSE REQUIRED; EXCEPTION. - ANY PERSON
DESIRING TO HUNT ON ANY REGULATED SHOOTING GROUND
FIRST SHALL OBTAIN A SPECIAL LICENSE. HOWEVER, A
PERSON HOLDING A RESIDENT OR NON-RESIDENT HUNTER'S
LICENSE MAY NOT BE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN THE LICENSE
PRESCRIBED BY THIS SECTION.
