(A) SPECIAL DOG TRAINING AREA PERMIT. - ANY
PERSON OWNING ANY RACCOON, OPOSSUM, BIRD, OR RABBIT
DOG, WHO DESIRES TO TRAIN THE DOG DUPING ANY CLOSED
HUNTING SEASON FIRST SHALL SECURE A PERMIT TO TRAIN
THE DOG.

(E) ISSUANCE; FEE. - UPON APPLICATION OF ANY
CLUB OR ASSOCIATION HAVING AT LEAST 20 MEMBERS WHO ARE
RESIDENTS OF THE STATE OR UPON THE APPLICATION OF AT
LEAST 20 PERSONS, THE DEPARTMENT MAY ISSUE A PERMIT
AUTHORIZING THE HOLDER TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN A
SPECIAL DOG TRAINING AREA ON LAND OWNED OR LEGALLY
CONTROLLED BY THE HOLDER. THE DEPARTMENT MAY NOT
ISSUE PERMITS FOR MORE THAN EIGHT SPECIAL DOG TRAINING
AREAS IN ANY ONE COUNTY.

(C)    FEE. - THE DEPARTMENT MAY ISSUE THE PERMIT
UPON PAYMENT OF A $10 FEE.

(D)   DURATION OF LICENSE. - THE PERMIT SHALL
EXPIRE ON JUNE 30 AFTER DATE OF ISSUANCE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language
derived from similar provisions of Article
66C, section 146 of the Code relating to
the requirements for and issuance of a
special dog training area permit.

In subsection (b) the word "association" is
used instead of the present word
"organization" to maintain consistency with
proposed section 10-703(a).

10-705. PERMITTEE REQUIRED TO POST BOUNDARY LINE.

THE HOLDER OF A SPECIAL DOG TRAINING AREA PERMIT
SHALL PLAINLY AND CONSPICUOUSLY POST THE BOUNDARY LINE
OF ANY SPECIAL DOG TRAINING AREA PRIOR TO SEPTEMBER 1
WITH LEGIBLE NOTICES AT LEAST TEN INCHES BY 12 INCHES
IN SIZE PLACED NOT MORE THAN 100 YARDS APART WHICH
SHALL BEAR THE FOLLOWING WARNING:

SPECIAL DOG TRAINING AREA
HUNTING IS UNLAWFUL

THIS LAND IS SET ASIDE UNDER SPECIAL PERMIT FOR THE

TRAINING OF DOGS.

ENTERING FOR THE PURPOSE OF HUNTING OR DISTURBING GAME
OR PERMITTING DOGS TO ENTER WITHOUT PROPER AUTHORIZATION
