rowboats are proposed for deletion and a
description of the required dimensions is
substituted therefor. The thrust of this
section, as evidenced by the reference to
present section 167, is the dimensions for
boats used in certain waters not the type
of boat. The types of boats mentioned here
are included within the definition of
"gunning rig" set forth in proposed section
10—601(e). The provisions relating to the
permissible use of a licensed skiff, canoe,
or rowboat is proposed for deletion.
According to the department, these boats
may be used in the areas presently provided
as long as they are of the dimensions
specified in this proposed section. The
references to the Potomac and Monacacy
Rivers and Chincoteague Bay, Sinepuxent
Bay, etc. is proposed for deletion because
the minimum size is inappropriate for these
waters.

The last provision relating to displaying
the boat license number also is proposed
for deletion because its substance appears
in proposed section 10—607(e).

The only other changes made are in style.
10-610. HUNTING FROM BOAT OR FLOATING BLIND.

(A) HUNTING FROM BOAT OR FLOATING BLIND IN
CERTAIN AREAS SUBJECT TO DEPARTMENT REGULATION. - A
PERSON MAY HUNT FROM A BOAT OR FLOATING BLIND ON DAYS
AND IN OPEN AREAS OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY AND THE
POTOMAC RIVER BELOW THE MORGANTOWN BRIDGE AS THE
DEPARTMENT PRESCRIBES BY RULE OR REGULATION.

(E) A BOAT OR FLOATING BLIND NOT ANCHORED OR
TIED AT A LICENSED BLIND SITE MAY NOT BE PERMITTED
CLOSER THAN 800 YARDS OFF PRIVATELY OWNED SHORELINE OR
WITHIN 500 YARDS OF ANY LICENSED BLIND, BLIND SITE,
GUNNING RIG, OR BODY BOOTER EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE
PROVIDED BY THIS TITLE. THIS SUBSECTION DOES NOT
APPLY TO ANY GUNNING RIG OTHER THAN A BOAT OR FLOATING
BLIND.
