SUBTITLE 6. FAMILY LAW.
SEC. 3-601. ADOPTION.

A CIRCUIT COURT SITTING IN EQUITY HAS
JURISDICTION IN AN ACTION FOR ADOPTION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language
derived from the first sentence of Art. 16,
§68. The venue provisions of this section
are allocated to Title 6, (Jurisdiction,
Venue, Pleading and Practice.) The
substantive law of adoption is allocated to
the Family Law Article of this Code.

SEC. 3-602. CUSTODY, GUARDIANSHIP, MAINTENANCE AND
SUPPORT OF CHILD.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

A COURT OF EQUITY HAS JURISDICTION OVER THE
CUSTODY, GUARDIANSHIP, MAINTENANCE, AND SUPPORT OF A
CHILD. IN EXERCISING ITS JURISDICTION, THE COURT MAY:

(1)   DIRECT WHO SHALL HAVE THE CUSTODY OR
GUARDIANSHIP OF A CHILD;

(2)    DECIDE WHO SHALL BE CHARGED WITH THE
SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE OF A CHILD, PENDENTE LITE OR
PERMANENTLY; OR

(3)    FROM TIME TO TIME SET ASIDE OR MODIFY
ITS DECREE OR ORDER CONCERNING THE CHILD.

(B)   JURISDICTION OF JUVENILE OR CRIMINAL COURT
NOT AFFECTED.

NOTHING IN THIS SECTION TAKES AWAY OR IMPAIRS THE
JURISDICTION OF THE JUVENILE COURT OR CRIMINAL COURT
WITH RESPECT TO THE CUSTODY, GUARDIANSHIP,
MAINTENANCE, AND SUPPORT OF A CHILD.

remaining subsections of §66 are allocated
to the Family Law Article or Title 6
