(a) The county boards of education shall hold an annual meeting each year on
the second Tuesday in July, or as near as possible thereto in July, except that in
Montgomery County such annual meeting shall be held on or before the tenth day
of January in each year. At this meeting the board shall elect one of its members
to serve as president and one to serve as vice-president. Other meetings shall be
held as the duties and business of the board may require. The members of the
county boards of education shall receive neither salary nor compensation, but each
member shall receive reimbursement for traveling and other expenses incident to
attending the meetings and transacting the business of the boards. In Calvert
County each member of the Board of Education shall receive the sum of five
hundred dollars ($500.00) annually for traveling and other expenses. IN
CARROLL COUNTY EACH MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION
SHALL RECEIVE THE SUM OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00)
ANNUALLY FOR TRAVELING AND OTHER EXPENSES. In Cecil County
each member of the Board of Education shall receive $600.00 annually for
traveling and other expenses. In Kent County each member of the Board of
Education shall receive the sum of six hundred dollars ($600.00) annually for
traveling and other expenses. In Garrett County each member of the Board of
Education shall receive the sum of two hundred DOLLARS ($200) annually for
traveling and other expenses. In Charles County the chairman of the Board of
Education shall receive the sum of eight hundred dollars ($800.00) annually for
traveling and other expenses, and the members of the Board of Education shall
receive the sum of six hundred DOLLARS ($600.00) annually for traveling and
other expenses.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 48(f) of Article 81 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland ([[1969 Replacement Volume and]] 1972
Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "When Taxes Are Payable,"
[[to require persons receiving funds on behalf of taxpayers for the purpose of
paying the taxpayer's ordinary taxes, to pay such taxes when due each year or
not later than thirty days after such funds may become sufficient to pay the
taxes then due, providing a penalty for failure to make timely payment,
provided the taxpayer receiving his tax bill directly from a political subdivision
is timely in delivering the tax bill to the persons receiving funds on his behalf
for the purpose of paying the taxpayer's ordinary taxes.]] to require property
owners to deliver tax bills promptly to the person receiving funds from the
taxpayer for the purpose of paving the property taxes.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 48(f) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland [[(1969 Replacement Volume and]] 1972 Supplement), title "Revenue
and Taxes," subtitle "When Taxes Are Payable," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
