908                                      LAWS OF MARYLAND                              Ch. 439

[[(b) In a State senatorial AND HOUSE OF DELEGATE district comprising
more than one county, any vacancy occurring because there is no candidate of a
political party to file for the office shall be filled by mutual agreement of each of
the State central committees of such party of those counties comprising the
district; and in the event any committee in the district does not approve of the
choice of the other committees in the district, the vacancy shall be filled by the
State central committee for the State of the party. ]]

(b) In a State [[senatorial]] LEGISLATIVE district comprising more than
one county, OR IN A STATE LEGISLATIVE SUBDISTRICT COMPRISING
MORE THAN ONE COUNTY, any vacancy occurring because there is no
candidate of a political party to file for the office shall be filled by [[mutual
agreement of each]] VOTE of the State central committees [[of such party]] IN
EACH of those counties IN THE DISTRICT OR SUBDISTRICT. [[comprising
the district; and in the event any committee in the district does not approve of the
choice of the other committees in the district.]] THE STATE CENTRAL
COMMITTEE OF EACH COUNTY INVOLVED SHALL HAVE ONE VOTE
FOR THE CHOICE TO FILL THE VACANCY IN NOMINATION, IF ONE
PERSON FAILS TO RECEIVE A MAJORITY OF THE VOTES OR IF
THERE IS A TIE VOTE BETWEEN OR AMONG THE STATE CENTRAL
COMMITTEES, the vacancy shall be filled by the State central committee for the
State of the party.

(d) Candidates for State Senator AND MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF
DELEGATES shall each pay to the State Administrative Board of Election Laws,
the sum of fifty dollars ($50) upon filing [such] THEIR certificates.

9-3.

[[In a State senatorial AND HOUSE OF DELEGATE district comprising
more than one county, any vacancy occurring because of the death or resignation
of any person nominated for State Senator OR MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF
DELEGATES in such district shall be filled by mutual agreement of each of the
State central committees of the party of such person of those counties comprising
the district; and in the event any committee in the district does not approve of the
choice of the other committees in the district, the vacancy shall be filled by the
State central committee for the State, "of the party"]]

county, OR IN A STATE LEGISLATIVE SUBDISTRICT COMPRISING
