CHAPTER 390
(Senate Bill 365)

AN ACT to add new Section 233B to Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Crimes and Punishments,"
subtitle "I. Crimes and Punishments." to follow immediately after Section 233A
thereof and to be under the new subheading "Fraud-Pari-mutuel Tickets," to
make it unlawful for anyone to present for payoff any counterfeit or altered
pari-mutuel ticket and to provide penalties therefor.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 233B be and it is hereby added to Article 27 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Crimes and
Punishments," subtitle "I. Crimes and Punishments," to follow immediately after
Section 233A thereof and to be under the new subheading "Fraud-Pari-mutuel
Tickets," and to read as follows:

233B.

FRAUD-PARI-MUTUEL TICKETS

ANY PERSON WHO KNOWINGLY PRESENTS A COUNTERFEIT OR
ALTERED PARI-MUTUEL TICKET FOR PAYOFF OR GIVES TO
ANOTHER PERSON A COUNTERFEIT OR ALTERED PARI-MUTUEL
TICKET TO BE PRESENTED FOR PAYOFF IS GUILTY OF A
MISDEMEANOR AND, UPON CONVICTION THEREOF, SHALL BE
SUBJECT TO A FINE OF NOT MORE THAN [[FIVE HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($500.00)]] ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) OR
IMPRISONMENT FOR NOT MORE THAN [[SIX MONTHS]] ONE
YEAR, OR BOTH FINE AND IMPRISONMENT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 391
(Senate Bill 366)

AN ACT to to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3-112 of Article 66-1/2
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Vehicle
Laws," subtitle "Subtitle 3 Certificates of Title and Registration of Vehicles," to
provide that a person selling, transferring or otherwise disposing of a [[taxicab, or
any motor vehicle damaged by water shall notify the transferee]] motor vehicle
used as a taxicab shall notify the transferee that the vehicle was used as a taxicab
and this information shall be contained upon the Certificate of Title issued by the
Motor Vehicle Administration, and to correct certain obsolete language therein.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 3-112 of Article 66-1/2 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Vehicle Laws," subtitle "Subtitle 3
Certificates of Title and Registration of Vehicles," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
