53.

It is the duty of every officer, board, institution and commission of the State,
including special or temporary officers, boards and commissions, to file with the
Department of Legislative Reference two copies of every regular or special report,
bulletin, periodical, catalog and other publication issued by him or it, whether the
report is in printed or other form, and also to file with the State Library, the Hall
of Records, the McKeldin Library of the University of Maryland, land I the Enoch
Pratt Free Library (central branch), [[AND]] AN AGENCY OF THE
RESPECTIVE COUNTIES [[AND BALTIMORE CITY]] DESIGNATED BY
THEIR GOVERNING BODIES, AND THE DEPARTMENT OF
LEGISLATIVE REFERENCE OF BALTIMORE CITY, at least one copy of the
report or other publication.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 341
(House Bill 1118)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 9.01 of Article 66B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume and 1972
Supplement), title "Zoning and Planning," subtitle "Transitional Provisions," to
extend from December 31, 1973 to December 31, [[1975]] 1974 the period of
interim validity of any planning and zoning commission, board of appeals,
historic district commission, comprehensive plan, zoning ordinance or district
map, subdivision regulations or historic zoning ordinance legally in existence or
in effect as of December 31, 1970.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 9.01 of Article 66B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume and 1972 Supplement), title "Zoning and
Planning," subtitle "Transitional Provisions," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

9.01.

(a)  Any planning and zoning commission, board of appeals, or historic district
commission which was legally in existence as of December 31, 1970, shall be
deemed to be legally constituted until the local legislative body in accordance with
the provisions of this article as enacted by Chapter 672, Acts of 1970, or as
subsequently amended, recreates the board or commission, or until December 31,
[1973] [[1975]] 1974 whichever first occurs.

(b)  Notwithstanding any provisions of this article as enacted by Chapter 672,
Acts of 1970, effective January 1, 1971, or as subsequently amended, all
comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances and district maps, subdivision regulations
and historic zoning ordinances in effect as of December 31, 1970, shall continue in
full force and effect as interim comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances, district
maps, subdivision regulations, historic zoning ordinances, until they are lawfully
replaced, modified, altered, or amended in accordance with this article as enacted
by Chapter 672, Acts of 1970, or as subsequently amended, or until December 31,
[1973] [[1975]] 1974, whichever first occurs.
