AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 698(g) of Article 66C
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Natural
Resources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams," to correct an error in the laws
concerning clams.
WHEREAS, Chapter 707 of the Acts of Maryland, 1955, made it illegal to
take certain clams in Maryland with a certain device except in Worcester County;
and
WHEREAS, This exception for Worcester County was not included when
Chapter 707 was codified; now, therefore,
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 698(g) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle
"Oysters and Clams," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
698.
(g) It shall be illegal to take or catch hard-shell clams (Venus mercenaria) in the
waters of this State with a "shinnecock rake" or similar device EXCEPT in
Worcester County.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

(House Bill 298)
AN ACT to add new Section 75 to Article 16 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1966 Replacement Volume and [[1972]] 1971 Supplement), title "Chancery,"
subtitle "Adoption," to follow immediately after Section 74 thereof, to provide
for the adoption or long term care short of adoption of children who have been
under foster care for a period of [[two]] [[three]] two years, to provide for a
presumption that this is in the best interests of the child, to specify what
evidence is needed to overcome this presumption, and to provide certain factors
for the Court to evaluate in making these decisions.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 75 be and it is hereby added to Article 16 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume and [[1972]] 1971
Supplement), title "Chancery," subtitle "Adoption," to follow immediately after
Section 74 thereof, and to read as follows:
