PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY
apparatus and Hiring" of the "Prince George's County
Code of Public Local Laws, 1967 Edition" is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, all to read
as follows:
Section 29—1. Board; appointments, vacancies.
The [board of county commissioners] COUNTY
EXECUTIVE of Prince George's County shall, SUBJECT TO
CONFIRMATION BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL PURSUANT TO SECTION
322 OF THE CHAPTER, within thirty (30) days after
[June 1, 1937] THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ACT, appoint
a board which shall be known as the Board of Examiners
and Supervisors, consisting of three (3) persons, for
the purpose of examining into the qualifications and
capabilities of all persons who are engaged or desire
to engage in the business of master electrician as
defined in this subtitle. The Board so appointed
shall consist of two competent persons, familiar with
the electrical business, residing in Prince George's
County, whose term of office shall be for two years,
and the president of the Prince George's County
Volunteer Firemen's Association, Inc., whose term of
office shall run for the same period of tine that he
shall hold office as president of the said
association. Should any vacancy occur from any cause
during the term of any Board as herein provided, the
[board of County commissioners] COUNTY EXECUTIVE of
Prince George's County shall appoint someone to fill
such vacancy. The [board of county commissioners]
COUNTY EXECUTIVE of Prince George's County shall have
full power to remove any member of the Board for
incompetency or improper conduct upon satisfactory
evidence being presented to him of such condition.
SECTION 2. THE POWERS OF THE BOARD OF ELECTRICAL
EXAMINEES AS DESCRIBED IN SECTION 1 OF THIS ACT, ARE
APPLICABLE AS OF THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE ORIGINAL
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY PUBLIC LOCAL LAW, SUBTITLE 29,
"ELECTRICAL APPARATUS AND HIRING." THIS WOULD INCLUDE
THE PERIOD FROM DECEMBER 3, 1971, TO THE EFFECTIVE
DATE OF THIS ACT. ANY DECISIONS MADE OR DUTIES
PERFORMED BY THE BOARD SINCE DECEMBER 3, 1971, ARE
HEREBY RATIFIED AND ACCEPTED.
Section 3. BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, that this Act
shall take effect forty-five calendar days from the
date it becomes law.
