beginning August 1, 1972, and shall cease to be
effective on July 1, 1973.

AN ACT to amend the Prince George's County General
Proposal No. 3—1968 and General Resolution No.
3-1968 to add and provide for the following
changes to Article 17, subtitled 76-1 of the
Public Local Laws for Prince George's County,
Maryland, 1963 Edition, whereby the Board of
County Commissioners (COUNTY COUNCIL) is
authorized and empowered to make ordinances
providing regulations for the operation of
taxicabs in Prince George's County:

WHEREAS [The Board of County Commissioners] THE
COUNTY COUNCIL deem it in the public interest to
establish new taxicab rates and other controls for the
operation of taxicabs in Prince George's County.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the [Board of
County Commissioners] COUNTY COUNCIL for Prince
George's County that General Proposal Number 36—1967,
General Resolution No. 36—1967, which was incorporated
by reference into General Proposal No. 3—1968,
General Resolution Number 3-1968 is hereby repealed
and re—enacted with the following amendments:

SECTION 1. Regular Rates. The regular rates to
be charged by taxicabs per mile and per passenger are
as follows:

(a) [60 cents] 70 cents for the first 5/6ths of
a mile or part thereof.

(b) 10 cents for each additional 1/6 mile.

(c) 20 cents additional for each passenger over
one WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY
and 50 cents additional outside the boundaries of
Prince George's County; provided, however, that
children in arms shall not be charged.
