1, 1973, advise that 12,204 signatures are
contained on petitions to referendum of Council
Bill 160-1972 {Largo Sports Complex-fund
transfer) and Council Bill 167-1972
(publicly—owned land for commercial recreation
purposes) .
PETITION FOR REFERENDUM TO AMEND CHARTER
To the Prince George's County Council:
We, the petitioners, being registered voters in
Prince George's County, hereby petition the Prince
George's County Council to also submit, pursuant to
Section 1105 of the Charter, the following proposed
amendment to the voters of the County at the General
Election of November 7, 1972.
Proposed Amendment
Article III of the Prince George's County Charter
is amended by adding the following section:
"POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE COUNCIL. (a) The
Council shall refer to a referendum of the voters of
the County, at the ensuing regular congressional

following proposed amendment to the Prince George's
County Charter be advertised in a newspaper of general
circulation throughout the County, pursuant to Section
1105 of the Charter, and that the said proposed
amendment be transmitted to the Board of Election
Supervisors of Prince George's County and placed on
the ballot at the General Election of November 7,
1972.
