CHAPTER 201
(Senate Bill 599)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments. Section 120(d) of Article 2B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Alcoholic
Beverages," subtitle "Restrictions Upon Licensees," to [[amend this Section so
that all unlawful gambling and gaming is prohibited for owners of liquor
licenses; however, lawful gambling such as state-run lottery shall be lawfully
conducted in licensed establishments;]] [[hand to make this bill an emergency
act]] prohibit in Allegany County liquor licensees from allowing gambling or
gaming that is prohibited by law upon the premises and to make this Bill an
Emergency Act.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 120(d) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle
"Restrictions Upon Licensees," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

120.

(d) It shall be unlawful for any licensee under this article to allow any gambling
[of any character upon the premises for which said license is issued] OR
GAMING THAT IS PROHIBITED BY LAW UPON THE PREMISES FOR
WHICH THE LICENSE IS ISSUED.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act [[shall take
effect July 1, 1973]] is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and safety and having been
passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 202
(House Bill 881)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 16(a) of Chapter 780,
Laws of Maryland (1959), as last amended by Chapter 731, Laws of Maryland
1972, being also Section 70-21(a) of the Montgomery County Code (1965
Edition, as amended), and Section 59-17(a) of the Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1963 Edition, as amended), to provide that the final date for
concurrence by the County Councils of Prince George's and Montgomery
Counties in Commission budget items allocable to both Counties be June 15th.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 16(a) of Chapter 780, Laws of Maryland (1959), as
last amended by Chapter 731, Laws of Maryland 1972, being also Section 70-21(a)
of the Montgomery County Code (1965 Edition, as amended), and Section
59-17(a) of the Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1963 Edition, as
amended), be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
