HOWARD COUNTY

PUBLIC BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION; AND EIGHT (8) YEARS OF
EXPERIENCE IN PUBLIC WORKS ADMINISTRATION, THREE (3)
YEARS OF WHICH SHALL HAVE BEEN IN A SUPERVISORY
CAPACITY; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE.

(81)    Central Alarm Dispatcher

Graduation from a recognized high school
and two (2) years clerical or business experience
preferably including experience as a dispatcher; or
any equivalent combination of education and
experience.

(82)    Chief Communications Dispatcher

Graduation from a recognized high school,
five (5) years of experience as a Dispatcher,
including three (3) years experience as a Central
Alarm Operator; or any equivalent combination of
education and experience.

(83)    Photographer

Graduation from a recognized high school,
or equivalence, plus photographic experience to cover
knowledge and essential skills.

(84) Police Dispatcher

Graduation from a recognized high school or
General Equivalence Test. Experience in radio
communication preferred, but not essential.

(85)    Community Services Officer

Same entrance standard as Patrolman except
the entrance age may be eighteen (18). Must
satisfactorily complete a designated training course.

(86)    Patrolman

Graduation from a recognized high school or
General Equivalence Test. Minimum age twenty—one (21)
years, and possession of a valid Motor Vehicle
Operating License.

(87)    Patrolman First Class

Must have two (2) years of police
