(2) The County Executive shall be the
appointing Authority for all of the above
positions except the Secretary to the County
Council and the County Auditor. The officers
shall serve at the pleasure of the appointing
authority; provided, however, that the County
Solicitor appointed by the County Executive in
accordance with the provisions of the Howard
County Charter shall be subject to confirmation
by the affirmative vote of a majority of the
members of the Council as elected in 1970, and
each four years thereafter.

Section 2.        AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED BY THE

COUNTY COUNCIL OF   HOWARD COUNTY, MARYLAND, that this

act shall take     effect sixty (60) days after its
enactment.

This Bill, having been approved by the Executive and
returned to the Council, stands enacted on June 7,
1972.
