COUNTY LOCAL LAWS
Any Judge of the People's Court may be
removed or retired from office under the same
conditions and provisions as apply to Judges of
the Circuit Court in this State. (1963, Ch. 597,

COUNCIL BILL NO. 5
AN ACT to repeal Subtitle 3 to Title 8 of the Howard
County Code title "Crimes and Misdemeanors"
subtitle "Sabbath observance"
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL
OF HOWARD COUNTY, That subtitle 3 of Title 8 of the
Howard County Code be and it is hereby repealed.

[Sabbath Observance
Sec. 8.230 — Sunday movies.
(a) It shall be lawful to hold, show,
play and/or exhibit motion pictures after 2 o'clock
P.M. on Sunday in said County with or without a charge
or admission fee; provided that it shall be unlawful
to show any pictures having a plot, tone or character
which is degrading, indecent or salacious, and which
tends to glorify vice and marital infidelity, and to
make light of all high ideals.
(b) Any person or persons, or body
politic or corporate, who shall violate any provisions
of this section, or cause or knowingly permit the same
to be violated by a person or persons in his, her or
its employ, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and,
upon conviction thereof shall be fined a sum not less
than Fifty Dollars ($50.00) nor more than One Hundred
