county, that on some day to be named in the
advertisement, not less than ten days after the
publication thereof, he will offer for sale, at
public auction, such lost, abandoned, stolen, lawfully
seized or unclaimed property, which advertisement
shall set forth the time, place and terms of the sale,
together with a detailed description of the property
to be sold; provided further, that the chief of
police, before selling any property as herein
provided, shall make a reasonable effort to ascertain
the owner thereof, and shall, if the owner and his
residence be known, mail a registered notice to such
owner at such residence, at least ten days prior to
the date of the sale.
(B) IF THE PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN SUBSECTION (A)
IS A BICYCLE, IT SHALL BE HELD BY THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT FOR AT LEAST THIRTY (30) DAYS, DURING WHICH
TIME REASONABLE EFFORTS SHALL BE MADE TO LOCATE THE
OWNER THEREOF. AT THE END OF SUCH PERIOD IF THE OWNER
HAS NOT BEEN LOCATED OR ASCERTAINED, THE CHIEF OF
POLICE IS AUTHORIZED AND EMPOWERED TO DISPOSE OF THE
BICYCLE, EITHER BY PUBLIC SALE, AS PROVIDED IN
SUBSECTION (A), OR BY MAKING A GIFT OF THE BICYCLE TO
ANY CHARITABLE, NON-PROFIT OR ELEEMOSYNARY AGENCY OR
INSTITUTION IN BALTIMORE COUNTY OR TO THE BALTIMORE
COUNTY FOSTER PARENTS ASSOCIATION.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Act shall take effect forty-five days after its
enactment.

AN ACT to prohibit hunting on any lands in. Baltimore
County under the control and supervision of the
Department of Recreation and Parks, excepting the
use of duck blinds, by adding new Section 18—25
to the Baltimore County Code, 1968, title
"Offenses—Miscellaneous".
