OF TAKOMA PARK LYING WITHIN MONTGOMERY COUNTY
REQUEST THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY to

levy an ad valorem tax on all assessable property in the part of Prince George's
County which is within the Washington Suburban Sanitary District AND ALL
ASSESSABLE PROPERTY IN THE PART OF THE CITY OF TAKOMA
PARK LYING WITHIN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, RESPECTIVELY, at a
rate necessary to produce annually the sum required by the commission to perform
the STORM DRAIN AND FLOOD CONTROL duties and responsibilities cast
on it by this [Section] CODE, [not exceeding, however, three (3) cents per One
Hundred Dollars ($100.00)] WITH THE RATE DETERMINED ANNUALLY
AND BEING THAT SPECIFIED IN THE COMMISSIONS BUDGET FOR
SUCH STORM DRAINAGE AND FLOOD CONTROL STUDIES, DESIGN
AND MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES AS APPROVED BY THE COUNTY
GOVERNING BODY PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER
729 OF THE ACTS OF 1972, AS THEY MAY BE AMENDED BY THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY FROM TIME TO TIME, CONCERNING THE
FORMULATION, SUBMISSION AND APPROVAL OF THE
COMMISSION'S CAPITAL AND OPERATING BUDGET (SEC. 1 - 4 OF
THIS CODE (83-58; 71-7). The tax hereby authorized is in addition to and not in
substitution for any ad valorem tax or charge authorized by any other Act of the
General Assembly[, but in fixing the amount annually the above limitation shall
include the amount of tax determined and collected under Section 83-89 (73-71) of
this subtitle for planning and maintaining drainage systems within the Sanitary
District I. The tax levy shall be collected and paid over to the Commission as are
other ad valorem taxes in accordance with the provisions specified by Section 6 of
Chapter 122 of the Acts of 1918, being SECTION 4-5 OF THE WASHINGTON
SUBURBAN SANITARY DISTRICT CODE AND Sections 83-67 and 173-531
71-15, respectively, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's and
Montgomery Counties.

6-6. (83-89; 71-38)

[For the purpose of laying out drainage districts within the Sanitary Districts
and for planning and designing works within the several drainage districts,
including the necessary preliminary expenses, and for the purpose of maintaining
said systems when constructed, the Commission shall request the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County and, for that portion of the City of
Takoma Park lying within Montgomery County, request the County
Commissioners of Montgomery County to levy a direct ad valorem tax not
exceeding 1¢ per $100.00 on all of the property assessed for county tax purposes
within the Sanitary District for storm drainage purposes as herein defined and
being within the respective counties, and shall request the County Commissioners
of Prince George's County and, f] For that portion of the City of Takoma Park
lying within Montgomery County, THE COMMISSION SHALL request the
County [Commissioners] COUNCIL of Montgomery County to levy an
additional ad valorem tax at a rate to be certified to said County [Commissioners]
COUNCIL necessary to produce annually the sum required to pay the principal
and interest for the current year on the outstanding bonds authorized by Section
83-88 (71-37) of this subtitle (SECTION 4-11 OF THIS CODE). The provisions of
this Section shall not in any way repeal, modify or restrict the provisions of
Section 83-86A (71-36A) of this subtitle (SECTION 3-11 OF THIS CODE), and
the Commission's powers and authorities specified in that Section are additional
and supplemental to those herein set out. On and after June 30, 1968, the
Montgomery County Council shall levy a direct ad valorem tax not exceedingly
per $100.00 on all property assessed for tax purposes within said County and
municipalities therein, with the exception of that portion of the City of Takoma
Park now situated in Montgomery County, necessary to pay the sums required for
