AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to add new Sections 17-605(g)
and (h) , and 17-606(g) and (h) to the Anne
Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and
Supplements), as added or amended by Bill No.
118-72, Title 17, "Taxation," Subtitle 6, "Water
and Wastewater Charges and Assessments," to
follow immediately after Sections 17-605 (e) and
17-606(e) thereof, respectively, to provide the
time and method of payment for water connection
charges, to create a lien for water connection
charges, to provide the time and method of
payment for wastewater connection charges to
create a lien for wastewater connection charges,
and matters generally related thereto.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL
OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND, That new Sections
17-605 (g) and (h) and 17-606 (g) and (h) be and they
are hereby added to the Anne Arundel County Code (1967
Edition and Supplements), as added or amended by Bill
No. 118-72, Title 17, "Taxation," Subtitle 6, "Water
and Wastewater Charges and Assessments," to follow
immediately after Sections 17-605(e) and 17-606(e)
thereof, respectively, and to read as follows:
SECTION 17-605. WATER SYSTEM CHARGES AND ASSESSMENTS.
(G) EXCEPT IN THE CASE OF EXISTING STRUCTURES,
THE WATER CONNECTION CHARGE SHALL BE PAID IN FULL AT
THE TIME APPLICATION FOR CONNECTION IS MADE. WITH
RESPECT TO EXISTING SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING UNITS THE
USER CONNECTION CHARGE SHALL BE PAID IN FULL UPON THE
DATE APPLICATION FOR CONNECTION IS MADE, OR AT THE
OPTION OF THE APPLICANT, ON OR BEFORE THE EXPIRATION
OF ONE (1) YEAR FROM SUCH DATE, BEARING INTEREST ON
THE UNPAID BALANCE AT A RATE TO BE DETERMINED BY THE
CONTROLLER PREDICATED UPON THE THEN CURRENT RATE ON
INVESTED COUNTY FUNDS. THE CAPITAL FACILITIES
CONNECTION CHARGE FOR EXISTING STRUCTURES MAY LIKEWISE
