Virginia, be and they are hereby legalized, and made
evidence of the laws of Anne Arundel County,
Maryland."
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That it is
the intention of the County Council that the sections,
paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of the
Supplements hereby legalized are severable, and if any
phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of the
Supplements hereby legalized shall be declared
unconstitutional or otherwise invalid by the valid
judgment or decree of a court of competent
jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality or invalidity
shall not affect any of the remaining phrases,
clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of the
Supplement hereby legalized.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Ordinance shall take effect forty—five (45) days from
the date it becomes law.

AN ORDINANCE to amend the charter of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland, by repealing and re—enacting,
with amendments, Section 813 thereof, Article
VIII, "Merit system", to revise the prohibited
practices relating to personnel provisions, and
to the political activities of County officers
and employees; and matters generally related
thereto; and to submit said amendment to the
qualified voters of Anne Arundel County for their
adoption or rejection.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL
OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND, That Section 813 of
the Charter of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, Article
VIII, "Merit System" be, and it is hereby repealed and
re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Section 813. Prohibited practices.
