COUNTY LOCAL LAWS
WHEREAS, The General Development Plan has been
prepared and presented to the Anne Arundel County
Council and to the citizens of the County; and
WHEREAS, the general goals of the General
Development Plan are as follows:
A safe, healthy and attractive environment for
all the people. This will require the elimination of
air and water pollution, of traffic congestion, of
inadequate housing and of the chaotic and ugly
commercial and semi-industrial developments which now
blight the countryside.
Sound economic growth and broad economic
opportunity. The plan must provide for the widest
variety of employment that is consistent with sound
development, to provide employment for as many as
possible of the County's residents and to contribute
in the greatest possible measure to the County's
public services.
Efficiency in the provision of public services.
The plan must promote a development pattern which can
be served effectively and without excessive cost by
roads, sewers, water systems, police protection and
other services; and
WHEREAS, Such goals are for the promotion of the
health, safety, morals, order, convenience, prosperity
and general welfare of the citizens of Anne Arundel
County; and
WHEREAS, Additional studies for the Odenton area
are now available; now, therefore,
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL
OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND, That [[the General
Development Plan for Anne Arundel County, Maryland, as
adopted by Bill No. 6-68, and as amended by Bill No.
95-69, and the]] new Sections 13-400 through 13-403,
inclusive, be and they are hereby added to the Anne
Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements),
Title 13, "Planning and Zoning", to follow immediately
after Rule XVIII of Section 13-360 thereof, and to be
under the new Subtitle 4, "General Development Plan",
to read as follows:
