Section 12—1303. Same - Issuance generally; expiration

and renewal.

Permit cards for owners of taxicabs operated upon
the streets and public highways of the county shall be
issued by the department of inspections and permits in
accordance with the provisions of this subtitle. Each
permit card so issued shall expire at the end of the
thirtieth day of April next ensuing and may be renewed
by the department of inspections and permits from year
to year, so long as the provisions of this [chapter]
SUBTITLE shall be complied with and the license fee
paid.

Section 12—1346. Taxicabs, operated from outside county

bringing passengers into county.

(A)    Taxicabs which are being operated in
Baltimore City or in other communities outside of the
county which are not operating under a permit issued
by the county may bring passengers from the City of
Baltimore or other communities into the county, but
shall not receive any passengers within the county,
other than the passengers brought from Baltimore City
or other communities; provided, however, that it
awaits at the destination of the passengers for their
return; and provided further, that in the event that
such passenger is brought into the county from the
City of Baltimore or other community, and left at a
designated point within the county by the taxicab
which then returns to its original place of operation,
the taxicab shall in no case return to the county and
pick up the passenger previously deposited, either in
response to verbal agreement or to a telephone call
from the passenger so brought into the county.

(B)    For the purposes of this subtitle, all
military reservations within the county are regarded
as communities outside of the county. All taxicabs
licensed by the City of Annapolis are exempted from
the provisions of this [chapter] SUBTITLE to the
extent of the area adjacent to the City of Annapolis
and not more than [[ten]] FIVE miles from the
corporate limits of the City of Annapolis [[except
areas south of the city to the county line]].
