CHAPTER 179
(House Bill 1270)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendment, Section 10A of Article 36 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Fees of
Officers," subtitle "Attorneys," generally relating to the disposition of court
appearance fees in Carroll County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 10A of Article 36 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Fees of Officers," subtitle
"Attorneys," is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with an amendment, to read as
follows:

10A.

In Carroll County, the clerk of the Circuit Court for the county shall deposit
[twenty per centum (20%)] ONE HUNDRED PER CENTUM (100%) of all
appearance fees collected by him into a special account to be used for the general
purposes of the court library of the county, including the necessary expenses for
books and library equipment.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 180
(House Bill 1272)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 7-67 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (1968 Edition, being Article 3 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore County," subtitle
"Part II. Laws," subheading "7. Courts, Fines, Forfeitures and Imprisonment,"
"Article III. Orphans' Court and Register of Wills," as last amended by
Chapter 361 of the Maryland Acts of 1966, to provide for an increase in the
compensation of the bailiff of the Orphans' Court for Baltimore County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 7-67 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore
County (1968 Edition, being Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Baltimore County," subtitle "Part II. Laws," subheading "7.
Courts, Fines, Forfeitures and Imprisonment," "Article III. Orphans' Court and
Register of Wills," as last amended by Chapter 361 of the Maryland Acts of 1966,
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

7-67.

The judges of orphans' court may appoint a bailiff, who shall attend each sitting
of the court and perform such duties as the court and register of wills may direct,
and shall be paid an annual salary of [three thousand six hundred] FOUR
THOUSAND dollars.
