487  Tax Sales; procedure. The method of enforcement of payment of delinquent

taxes and other municipal charges constituting a lien on property shall be as
provided for municipalities in Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland.

488   Tax Rate; Tax Collection. The Commissioners of Sharptown shall, on or

before the third Monday in May annually levy upon the assessable property
subject to taxation for town purposes a sum sufficient for all general
purposes not to exceed one dollar on the one hundred dollars of the assessed
value thereof; and in addition such sums as may here after be duly and
regularly authorized by any Act of the General Assembly of Maryland or by
the Charter of the Town of Sharptown for the liquidation and payment of
any indebtedness of said Town, or any bonds thereof and the interest thereon
issued under authority of law; which said taxes when assessed and levied shall
be a lien upon the real and personal property against which it is so assessed.
Said taxes shall bear interest from the first day of October succeeding the
levy, and all taxes not paid and in arrears may be collected as set forth in
Section 487 hereof.

SECTION II. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED AND
ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSIONERS OF SHARPTOWN, MARYLAND,

that this Charter Amendment shall take effect fifty (50) days from the date of final
passage hereof.

Commissioners of Sharptown

RESOLUTION NO. 3 - 1972

A RESOLUTION to repeal and re-enact with Amendments Section 489 of the
Charter of the Town of Sharptown in Wicomico County, Maryland as set
forth in the Wicomico County Code (1965 Edition) raising the borrowing
power of the Commissioners of Sharptown for general purposes, from Ten
Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) to One Hundred Thousand Dollars
($100,000.00).

SECTION I. BE IT RESOLVED, ENACTED AND ORDAINED BY THE
COMMISSIONERS OF SHARPTOWN, MARYLAND, by virtue of the
authority granted in Article 11E of the Constitution of Maryland, and Section 12 of
Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland, that Section 489 of the Charter
of the Town of Sharptown be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments to read as follows:

489 Borrowing power. The Commissioners of Sharptown are hereby authorized to
pledge the credit of the Town of Sharptown and to borrow on note or
otherwise, from time to time, as they may see fit, for general purposes, a sum
or sums not exceeding in the aggregate One Hundred Thousand Dollars
($100,000.00) at any one time, at an interest rate of six per cent (6%) or less.

SECTION II. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED, AND
ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSIONERS OF SHARPTOWN, MARYLAND,

that this Charter Amendment shall take effect fifty (50) days from the date of final
passage hereof.
