2322                                    MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

Being part of the land conveyed unto Leonard Lewis Kogan and Nancy Dorris
Kogan, his wife, as to an undivided one-half interest therein, and unto Ira Wickner
and Claire H. Wickner, his wife, as to the remaining undivided one-half interest
therein, by deed of Donald B. Hanley and Bernice K. Hanley, his wife, dated
January 28, 1966 and recorded among the Land Records of Carroll County in
Liber C.C.C. No. 401, folio 322, etc.

SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that from and after the effective
date of this Resolution all persons residing within the area to be annexed shall be
and become residents of the Town of Mount Airy, and subject to the provisions of
the Charter of said Town, and any amendments thereto, and that the real property
so annexed and the personal property thereon shall be subject to the municipal
taxes effective January I, 1973.

SECTION 3. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall become
effective on the 46th day following its enactment.

NEW CARROLLTON CHARTER AMENDMENT NO. 72-1

A RESOLUTION TO ADOPT AN AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER
OF THE CITY OF NEW CARROLLTON, PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY,
MARYLAND, (Section 9 of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, Everstine's 1963 Edition, as amended and registered pursuant to Article
23A, Section 11, ET. SEQ., of the Annotated Code of Maryland, 1957 Edition,
as amended), amending Section 7a of said Charter, entitled "Elections," subtitle
"Conduct and Procedure," to add a provision permitting the City Council to adopt
regulations and procedures for absentee voting, for write-in candidacies, and for
other matters pertaining to elections in order to provide for the orderly conduct of
municipal elections.
