BUSINESS OF THE TOWN, WHICH BILLS FOR LABOR AND EXPENSES
SHALL BE PASSED UPON AS OTHER BILLS PRESENTED TO THE
TOWN.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a complete and exact copy of the
aforegoing Resolution be posted at the Middletown Town Office for a period of at
least forty (40) days, commencing on the 14th day of December, 1971 and ending
not earlier than the 24th day of January, 1972; that a copy of the aforegoing
Resolution be published in The Valley Register at least four times at weekly
intervals during the aforesaid forty day period; and that the aforegoing Resolution
shall become a part of the Municipal Charter of The Burgess and Commissioners
of Middletown on the 3rd day of February, 1972, unless a Petition requesting a
referendum on the matter is submitted to the Burgess and Commissioners of
Middletown on or before the 24th day of January, 1971, in compliance with the
provisions of Article 23A, Section 13, of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
ADOPTED the 13th day of December, 1971.

The amendment to the Charter of the Town of Midland, concerning
the voters, is as follows:
"Every person who (1) is a citizen of the United States, (2) is at least 18 years
of age, (3) has resided in the State of Maryland and the Town of Midland 30 days
next preceding any town election, shall be a qualified voter of the Town. Every
qualified voter of the Town shall be entitled to vote at any or all Town elections."
