COMMITTEE AT WHICH A MAJORITY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE
CREDIT COMMITTEE ARE PRESENT AND AT A MEETING OF THE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS, IN THE ABSENCE OF THE APPLICANT, AT
WHICH A MAJORITY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS ARE PRESENT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 159
(House Bill 867)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 354(b) of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Queen Anne's County (Article 18 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition)), title Queen Anne's County," subtitle
"Recreation and Parks," as added by Chapter 486 of the Acts of 1965;
increasing the number of members on the Board of Recreation and Parks from
seven to nine.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 354(b) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Queen
Anne's County (Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition)), title "Queen Anne's County," subtitle "Recreation and Parks," as added
by Chapter 486 of the Acts of 1965, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

354.

(b) The Board shall consist of [seven] NINE members, appointed by the
County Commissioners, of whom one shall be first recommended by the County
Board of Education from its membership or otherwise, and one of whom shall be a
member of the Board of County Commissioners. All members of the Board, except
the County Commissioner member who shall serve for his elected term of office,
shall be appointed for four years from the first day of January of the year of their
appointments or until their successors are appointed. The members of the Board,
other than the County Commissioner member, when first appointed, shall be
divided into three classes. The initial terms of those in the first class shall be for
four years; of those in the second class, three years; and of those in the third class,
two years. Vacancies, except those at the expiration of a term, shall be filled in the
same manner as the original appointments and for the unexpired term. In the
appointment of Board members the County Commissioners shall give due regard
to population and geography. All members of the Board shall serve without
compensation.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.
