SECTION 4. And be it further resolved that the date of adoption of this
resolution is October 9, 1972 and the re-enactment and amendments to the Charter of
the Town of Bladensburg, hereby enacted shall become effective on December 11,
1972, unless on or before December 1, 1972, there shall be filed with the Council a
proper petition for referendum as permitted by law.

SECTION 5. And be it further resolved that the Mayor of Bladensburg be, and he
is hereby directed to post a complete and exact copy of this resolution at the Town
Hall or other main municipal building or public place for a period of at least forty
(40) days following its enactment and to cause a fair summary of the proposed
amendments to be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the town not less
than four times, at weekly intervals, within forty (40) days after enactment of this
resolution.

SECTION 6. And be it further resolved that as soon as the Charter
amendments hereby proposed shall become effective either as herein provided or
following a referendum, the Mayor shall send separately by registered mail to the
Secretary of State of Maryland and to the Department of Legislative Reference,
the following information concerning the Charter amendments:

1.    The complete text, as approved, of the amendments.

2.    The date of the referendum election, if any, held

with respect hereto.

3.    The number of votes cast for and against the question
of these amendments whether by the Town Council or

in a referendum.

4.    The effective date of these Charter amendments.

Read and adopted for the first reading on October 9, 1972 at the public
meeting.

Next public meeting on this resolution is to be held on December 11, 1972.
