MARVIN MANDEL, Governor                          1957

EXECUTIVE ORDER OF JANUARY 20, 1969
DEPARTMENT CONTRACTS - APPROVAL

TO ALL DEPARTMENT HEADS:

Effective immediately, all departments who plan to enter into or renew any
contracts with consulting firms or consultants must receive prior approval from the
Department of Budget and Procurement.

Department of Budget Procurement.

EXECUTIVE ORDER OF JANUARY 29, 1969
OPERATING ECONOMY SURVEY

Government has a continuing obligation to provide necessary programs and
services with maximum efficiency and economy.

Recognizing this, I salute the group of private citizens that, at no cost to the
State, has undertaken a study of methods and means of achieving full efficiency
from government operations.

Because the survey is near completion, and because its findings are vitally
needed in this increasingly critical period. I am concerned that the citizens engaged
in the study be allowed time to conclude the survey. Accordingly, and

BY VIRTUE of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Maryland,
I am therefore extending on this date THE GOVERNOR'S OPERATING
ECONOMY SURVEY and authorizing Mr. James J. McIntyre to remain as
Chairman.
