1972, CHAPTER 372 - Payment of State Debt

STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS
ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, the State Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at the General Election held in the State of Maryland on November 7, 1972,
an Act known as Chapter 372 of the Acts of 1972 was submitted to the voters of
the State of Maryland under the provisions of Article XIV of the Constitution of
the State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:

AN ACT to propose an amendment to Section 34 of Article III of the
Constitution of Maryland, title "Legislative Department," TO PROVIDE THAT
THE ANNUAL TAX REQUIRED TO BE LEVIED TO PAY THE
PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST ON STATE DEBT AUTHORIZED BY THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY IS NOT LEVIED IF SUFFICIENT FUNDS FOR
THE DEBT ARE APPROPRIATED IN THE ANNUAL STATE BUDGET,
TO CORRECT AN ERROR THEREIN, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE
SUBmission of the amendment to the qualified voters of the State of Maryland for
their adoption or rejection.

AND IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that at said election, 633,451 votes were
cast for the adoption of said Chapter 372 and 167,173 votes were cast against the
adoption of said Chapter 372, the said Chapter 372 of the Acts of 1972 has
therefore been ratified by the duly qualified voters of the State of Maryland.

of Election Laws of the State of Maryland, Done at the City of Annapolis, this
30th day of November, In the Year of Our Lord, One Thousand, Nine Hundred
and Seventy-Two.
