STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS

ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, the State Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at the General Election held in the State of Maryland on November 7, 1972,
an Act known as Chapter 359 of the Acts of 1971 was submitted to the voters of
the State of Maryland under the provisions of Article XIV of the Constitution of
the State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:

AN ACT to propose an amendment to Article III of the Constitution of the
State of Maryland, title "Legislative Department," by adding thereto a new
section, to be known as Section 40D, to follow immediately after 40C of said
Article, providing for an optional procedure for the acquisition of land and
interests in land in Montgomery County by the Washington Suburban Sanitary
Commission for the construction and extension of water supply, sewerage and
drainage systems, and to provide for the submission of said amendment to the
qualified voters of the State for adoption or rejection.

AND IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that at said election, 378,896 votes were
cast for the adoption of said Chapter 359 and 319,529 votes were cast against the
adoption of said Chapter 359, the said Chapter 359 of the Acts of 1971 has
therefore been ratified by the duly qualified voters of the State of Maryland.
