1971, CHAPTER 357 - Right of Suffrage
STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS
ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, the State Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at the General Election held in the State of Maryland on November 7, 1972,
an Act known as Chapter 357 of the Acts of 1971 was submitted to the voters of
the State of Maryland under the provisions of Article XIV of the Constitution of
the State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:
AN ACT to propose an amendment to Article 7 of the Declaration of Rights
of the Constitution of Maryland, deleting archaic language describing those
citizens entitled to vote, and providing for the submission of this amendment to the
qualified voters of the State of Maryland for their adoption or rejection.
AND IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that at said election, 643,221 votes were
cast for the adoption of said Chapter 357 and 146,931 votes were cast against the
adoption of said Chapter 357, the said Chapter 357 of the Acts of 1971 has
therefore been ratified by the duly qualified voters of the State of Maryland.

1971, CHAPTER 358 - Baltimore County Council
STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS
ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, the State Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at the General Election held in the State of Maryland on November 7, 1972,
an Act known as Chapter 358 of the Acts of 1971 was submitted to the voters of
the State of Maryland under the provisions of Article XIV of the Constitution of
the State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:
AN ACT to propose a new Section 3A to Article XI-A of the Constitution,
title "Local Legislation," to follow immediately after Section 3 thereof, to provide
for the election of a county council for Baltimore County by COUNCILMANIC
districts, or by the voters of the entire county, or by a combination of these
methods of election, and providing for the submission of this amendment to the
qualified voters of the State of Maryland for their adoption or rejection.
AND IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that at said election, 483,313 votes were
cast for the adoption of said Chapter 358 and 209,938 votes were cast against the
adoption of said Chapter 358, the said Chapter 358 of the Acts of 1971 has
therefore been ratified by the duly qualified voters of the State of Maryland.
