CHAPTER 118
(House Bill 14)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 6-305 of Article 66
1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title
"Vehicle Laws," subtitle "Subtitle 6. Drivers' Licenses," subheading "Part III.
Violation of License Provisions," amending the laws concerning the permission
for a motor vehicle to be driven by a person not authorized or in violation of
certain laws in order to require this permission to be given knowingly.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 6-305 of Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Vehicle Laws," subtitle "Subtitle 6.
Drivers' Licenses," subheading "Part III. Violation of License Provisions," be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

6-305.

No person shall [authorize or] knowingly permit a motor vehicle owned by him
or under his control [[(1)]] to be driven upon any highway by any person who is
(1) not authorized hereunder or (2) in violation of any of the provisions of this
subtitle.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect on July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 119
(House Bill 20)

AN ACT to repeal Section 27 of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact,"
subtitle "Who May Not Practice Law," and to enact new Section 27 in lieu
thereof, to stand in the place of the section repealed, to provide that certain
officers of correctional institutions AND CERTAIN LAW ENFORCEMENT
PERSONNEL may not practice law [[in any of the courts of this State, 11 and
providing a penalty for doing so, and providing that this section shall not be
construed to prohibit any of these officers from being admitted to practice by
the Court of Appeals of Maryland.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 27 of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact,"
subtitle "Who May Not Practice Law," be and it is hereby repealed, and that new
