the Board. THE BOARD MAY WAIVE THE WRITTEN REQUIREMENT OF
ITS EXAMINATION WITH RESPECT TO ANY APPLICANT WHO HAS
SUCCESSFULLY PASSED THE EXAMINATION GIVEN BY THE
NATIONAL BOARD OF PODIATRY EXAMINERS. The Board of Podiatry
Examiners shall report annually to the Board of Medical Examiners of the
Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland, in detail all of their transactions.

From and after June 1, 1945, any person not heretofore authorized to practice
podiatry in this State and desiring to enter upon such practice, shall file with the
said Board of Podiatry Examiners, upon payment of a fee [of twenty-five dollars]
AS DETERMINED BY THE SAID BOARD WITH THE APPROVAL OF
THE SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE, a written
application for examination, together with satisfactory proof that the applicant is
not less than twenty-one years of age, is of good moral character and has obtained
a preliminary education of four years' instruction in a high school and two years'
instruction in a college of liberal arts or sciences. The fact that such instruction has
been received by the applicant must be evidenced by a certificate satisfactory to the
said Board of Podiatry Examiners. Such applicant must also, before presenting
him or herself for examination, be a graduate of a reputable and legally
incorporated school or college of chiropody or podiatry, acceptable to the Board.
Thereupon the said applicant shall be subjected to an examination.

To provide a fund in order to carry out and enforce the provisions of this
subtitle, the Board of Podiatry Examiners shall [charge fifteen dollars for each
examination, ten dollars for each certificate] ESTABLISH A FEE FOR
EXAMINATIONS, RE-EXAMINATIONS AND CERTIFICATES WITH
THE APPROVAL OF THE SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND MENTAL
HYGIENE and SHALL ESTABLISH an annual license fee [of five dollars]
WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND
MENTAL HYGIENE payable on or before the first day of January of each year.
THE BOARD OF PODIATRY EXAMINERS MAY PAY EXPENSES
INCURRED IN CARRYING OUT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
SUBTITLE, AND PAY THE PER DIEM COMPENSATION TO MEMBERS
OF THE BOARD, AS PROVIDED IN THE ANNUAL STATE BUDGET. All
moneys collected under this subtitle shall be paid over to the State Treasurer and
shall become general funds of the State. Such moneys shall thereafter be disbursed
by the Comptroller only pursuant to an appropriation made in accordance with §§
32 and 52 of Article 3 of the Constitution or pursuant to the provisions of §§ 1
through 15 inclusive, of Article 15A of this Code, title "Budget and Procurement,"
as amended from time to time.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.
