(C) BEFORE SELECTING OR CONTINUING A BANK AS A
DEPOSITORY FOR STATE FUNDS PURSUANT TO SECTION 21 OF
THIS ARTICLE, THE TREASURER SHALL TAKE INTO
CONSIDERATION, AMONG OTHER APPROPRIATE FACTORS, THE
EXTENT OF THE BANK'S PARTICIPATION IN THE MARYLAND
HIGHER EDUCATION LOAN PROGRAM UNDER ARTICLE 43A OF
THIS CODE.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That if any provisions of
this Act shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions
thereof which can be given effect without the invalid provision.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

AN ACT to add new Section 3-708 to Article 66-1/2 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Vehicle Laws," subtitle "Subtitle
3 Certificates of Title and Registration of Vehicles," subheading "Part VII.
Offenses Against Registration and Certificate of Title Laws; Revocation of
Registration or Certificate of Title," to follow immediately after Section 3-707
thereof, to make unlawful certain acts of a person making an application for
registration of a vehicle or certificate of title.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 3-708 be and it is hereby added to Article 66-1/2
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Vehicle
Laws," subtitle "Subtitle 3 Certificates of Title and Registration of Vehicles,"
subheading "Part VII. Offenses Against Registration and Certificates of Title
Laws; Revocation of Registration or Certificate of Title," to follow immediately
after Section 3-707 thereof, and to read as follows:
3-708.
NO PERSON MAY FRAUDULENTLY USE A FALSE OR FICTITIOUS
NAME IN ANY APPLICATION FOR THE REGISTRATION OF A
VEHICLE OR A CERTIFICATE OF TITLE, KNOWINGLY MAKE A
FALSE STATEMENT, KNOWINGLY CONCEAL A MATERIAL FACT, OR
OTHERWISE COMMIT A FRAUD IN ANY SUCH APPLICATION. ANY
VIOLATION OF THIS SECTION IS A MISDEMEANOR.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.
