of said Board. The salaries shall be paid by the Board at the rate per diem of
actual service herein provided and traveling expenses, in accordance with State
regulations, shall be allowed to members of the Board for attendance at Board
meetings. Said Board may also employ inspectors to AND EXAMINERS assist
the Board in the discharge of its duties. The compensation of the inspectors AND
EXAMINERS shall be as provided in the annual State budget, but in no event
less than fifteen dollars ($15.00) nor more than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for
each day employed in the discharge of their official duties.

If the Board finds that the applicant has submitted the credentials required by
this subtitle for admission to examination, and has paid the registration and
examination fees required by this subtitle, the Board shall admit such applicant to
examination, and shall issue certificates of registration to practice as operator,
manager, demonstrator or teacher, as the case may be. to those successfully
passing the required examinations. [The said Board shall meet in the City of
Baltimore on the second Tuesday of January and July of each year for the purpose
of holding examinations, or oftener and elsewhere if deemed necessary. Two
members of the Board shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of holding
examinations.) THE BOARD WILL MEET AS OFTEN AS NECESSARY TO
PASS AN ORDER SETTING THE TIME, PLACE, AND DATE OF
EXAMINATIONS AND MAY DESIGNATE CERTAIN OF ITS
EMPLOYEES TO GIVE EITHER OR BOTH THE WRITTEN OR
PRACTICAL PORTIONS OF THE EXAMINATION.

(b) Five dollars ($5.00) for operators, manicurists, COSMETICIANS and
demonstrators.

The certificates of registration issued in the year in which this subtitle goes into
effect shall expire as of the year in which said licenses are issued. Thereafter
certificates shall be issued for no longer than one year. All certificates shall expire
on the thirty-first day of December next succeeding unless renewed for the next
year.

Certificates may be renewed by application on renewal forms to be supplied by
the Board on request made prior to the thirty-first day of December of each year,
and the payment of the renewal fees provided in this subtitle, said application to be
accompanied by an affidavit of a practicing physician on a form to be furnished by
the Board, stating that the applicant is free from any contagious and infectious
disease, provided, however, that certificates of renewal issued to apprentices shall
be limited to two in number.

Any holder of a license under the provisions of this subtitle, WITH THE
EXCEPTION OF AN ELECTROLOGIST, who has been inactive for a period of
five years or more shall be required to take and pass an examination prescribed by
the Board before a renewal of a certificate of registration is issued.

ANY HOLDER OF A LICENSE ISSUED FOR THE PRACTICE OF
ELECTROLOGY UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE, WHO
HAS BEEN INACTIVE FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR OR MORE SHALL
BE REQUIRED TO TAKE AND PASS AN EXAMINATION PRESCRIBED
BY THE BOARD BEFORE A RENEWAL OF A CERTIFICATE OF
REGISTRATION IS ISSUED.
