or to prohibit the use of a fathometer or depth recorder for navigational purposes.
Any person found guilty of violating the provisions of this subsection shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined a sum not less
than $250.00 nor more than $1,000.00 and, in the discretion of the court, may also
be imprisoned in the house of correction for a period of not more than one year,
or may be both fined and imprisoned.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.
