OF SECTION 430 (D) OF ARTICLE 41, BECOME CLASSIFIED
EMPLOYEES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
WITHOUT LOSS OF BENEFITS OR DIMINUTION IN SALARY.

Sec. 9. Be it further enacted, That all books, papers, files, records,
furniture, fixtures, and all other personal property owned by or in
the custody, as of January 1, 1973, of any office, board, commis-
sion, department or agency abolished by this Act, shall be trans-
ferred to and be in the ownership or custody of the Department
of Agriculture.

Sec. 10. Be it further enacted, That all appropriations and
credits on the books, papers, and accounts of any office, board, com-
mission, department or agency, as of January 1, 1973, for and to the
credit of any office or agency abolished by this Act, and all liabili-
ties and obligations as of said date of any such office, board, com-
mission, department or agency shall be transferred to and become
the appropriations, credits, liabilities, and obligations of the Depart-
ment of Agriculture.

Sec. 11. Be it further enacted, That if any provision of this Act
or the application thereof to any person or circumstances shall
be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions
or applications thereof which can be given effect without the invalid
provision or application; and to that end, all parts, sections, and
parts of sections of this Act are declared to be severable.

Sec. 12. Be it further enacted, That all laws or parts of laws,
public general or public local, inconsistent with the provisions of
this Act, are hereby repealed at the extent of any such inconsis-
tency.

Sec. 13. And be it further enacted, That the portion of Section
1 of this Act which enacts a new Section 430 of Article 41 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland shall take effect October 1, 1972,
and that the remainder of this Act shall take effect January 1, 1973.

(House Bill 725)

AN ACT to repeal Section 47 of Article 26 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume and 1971 Supplement),
title "Courts," subtitle "Salaries of Judges," and to enact new
Section 47 in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the section
repealed; and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
144(a) of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966
Replacement Volume and 1971 Supplement), title "Courts," sub-
title "District Courts"; to repeal the statutory pay plan for judges
of the Court of Appeals, the Court of Special Appeals, the circuit
courts of the several counties, the Supreme Bench of Baltimore
City and the District Court; to provide that the salaries of said
