amendments, and to read as follows:

(c) The Director shall have authority to have printed the annual
report of the Department, and such bulletins, literature, posters,
licenses and other printing as may be necessary to the work of
the Department and Commission. Whenever any new or proposed
regulations are required to be published, such publication shall be
made in a newspaper published in each county being affected by the
new or proposed regulations.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40 (h) of
Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Supplement),
title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact," subtitle "State's
Attorney," increasing the salaries for assistant State's attorneys
and adding an assistant State's attorney to handle District Court
cases in Cecil County; and to clarify the provisions relating to
the salary and appropriation for special work for the State's Attor-
ney of Cecil County and the salaries and legal powers of the
assistant State's attorneys of Cecil County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 (h) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1971 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in
Fact," subtitle "State's Attorney," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
40.
(h) In Cecil County, (1) the State's Attorney's salary is twelve
thousand five hundred dollars ($12,500) per annum. In addition
to the compensation provided for in this section, the State's Attor-
ney, for the operation of his office and the performance of his duties,
shall be entitled to a reasonable expense allowance which shall be
subject to the approval of the Board of County Commissioners.
(2) The State's Attorney may appoint four [THREE] FOUR
assistant State's attorneys to serve at the pleasure of the State's
Attorney with one assistant State's attorney to handle only District
Court cases. The assistant State's attorneys' salary is [five thousand
dollars ($5,000.00)] six thousand five hundred dollars ($6,500.00)
per annum.
