subtitle "In General," subheading "Department of Natural Re-
sources," to follow immediately after Section 5A thereof, to pro-
vide a penalty for violation of provisions of law governing matters
within the jurisdiction of the Department of Natural Resources,
or regulations adopted pursuant thereto, for which another
penalty is not provided.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 5B is hereby added to Article 66C of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1971 Supplement), title "Natural Re-
sources," subtitle "In General," subheading "Department of Natural
Resources," to follow immediately after Section 5A thereof and to
read as follows:
5B.
Any person, firm, or corporation violating any provision of this
article pertaining to matters within the jurisdiction of the Depart-
ment, or violating any regulation adopted pursuant to those pro-
visions, for which another penalty is not provided, is guilty of a
misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not more
than $200.00.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

(Senate Bill 803)
AN ACT to add new Section 557B to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Crimes and
Punishments," subtitle "I. Crimes and Punishments," subheading
"Telegraphs and Telephones," to follow immediately after Section
557 A thereof, to require that persons having devices which trans-
mit pre-recorded telephone messages to pre-programmed numbers
concerning emergency conditions must have the approval of the
holder of the receiving telephone.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 557B be and it is hereby added to Article 27 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title
"Crimes and Punishments," subtitle "I. Crimes and Punishments,"
subheading "Telegraphs and Telephones," to follow immediately
after Section 557A thereof, and to read as follows:
557B.
(a) It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to have any
device attached by a couple to a telephone or hardwire which when
activated by remote control dials a pre-programmed number and
transmits a pre-recorded message communicating a then existing
emergency condition, including but not limited to fire, illness or a
