entitled to a special allowance under the provisions of this section
shall be paid for the period of his or her natural life unless he or she
remarries, in which event the special allowance is immediately to
cease and terminate. The board of trustees is hereby authorized and
directed, subject to the annual appropriation of the necessary funds,
to make the special allowance herein provided for, provided that
the application of this section shall be limited to the [widows!
surviving spouses of teachers whose death did not entitle such
[widows] surviving spouses to any continuing retirement or pension
benefits under the provisions of this subtitle other than as provided
in this section.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 213
(Senate Bill 444)
AN ACT to add new Section 36B to Article 101 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and 1971 Supple-
ment), title "Workmen's Compensation," subtitle "Claims and
Compensation; Benefits," to follow immediately after Section 36A
thereof, to provide for reimbursement to an employee for actual
lost wages incidental to Commission hearings on his claim.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 36B be and it is hereby added to Article 101 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and
1971 Supplement), title "Workmen's Compensation," subtitle
"Claims and Compensation; Benefits," to follow immediately after
Section 36A thereof, and to read as follows:
36B.
In addition to the amounts to be paid an employee entitled to re-
ceive compensation under this article, an employee will be entitled
to reimbursement from his employer of actual lost wages due to time
spent while being examined by a physician or other examiner at the
request of the employer or the employer's insurer. An employee is
entitled to reimbursement from his employer of actual lost wages
due to time spent traveling to and from and in attendance at any
Commission hearing scheduled as a result of a request for a contin-
uance by CAUSED BY ACTION OF the employer or the employer's
insurer.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.
